Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email address.
• Training inputs you give us: goal race, race date, recent race time, weekly mileage and the days you can run.
• Garmin data, only after you connect your account: completed running activities, including distance, duration, pace and heart rate.
• Subscription status from Apple and our subscription provider. We never see or store your payment card details.
• Waitlist sign-ups on this website: your email address, used only to tell you about Taper's launch. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

How we use Garmin data

We use Garmin Connect to send your scheduled workouts to your Garmin calendar and watch, and to read the runs you complete so we can adjust your training plan. We use this data only to provide Taper's features to you. We do not use Garmin data for advertising, and we do not send it to analytics, machine learning or AI services.

What we never do

• We never sell your personal data or Garmin data.
• We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We share data only with service providers that run Taper for us, under agreements that protect it: our cloud hosting and database provider (which stores your account, plan and Garmin data), Apple and our subscription provider (which handle payments and never receive Garmin data), and our website host (which receives waitlist sign-ups).

Storage and security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States with encryption in transit and at rest. Access tokens for Garmin are stored securely and used only to sync your training.

We keep your data only while your account is active. When you disconnect Garmin, we delete the Garmin data and access tokens we hold for you. When you delete your account, we delete all of your data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep limited records, such as purchase records.

Your choices

• Disconnect Garmin anytime in the app or from your Garmin Connect account settings. We stop syncing right away and delete the Garmin data we hold for you.
• Delete your account anytime from inside the app.
• Request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and all stored data, by emailing privacy@taperrunning.com. We complete deletion within 30 days.

Children

Taper is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, email privacy@taperrunning.com and we will delete it.
